At Monart School of the Arts, students ages 4 and up learn how to draw and create beautiful artwork that amazes viewers. The moment you walk into any of our studios in Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, or Zionsville, you'll know it is a special place where students of all ages can experience the joy of artistic expression in a peaceful, noncompetitive atmosphere.

                                   Julia, age 12

Monart students learn how to draw using the internationally recognized Monart method of drawing. Just as we are taught the ABCs in learning to read, and musical notes to learn to play an instrument, the Monart Drawing Method teaches students how to perceive the world through 5 basic elements of shape and how to translate that information into a realistic drawing. Equally important, students are taught that there is no right or wrong way to draw and that there are no mistakes in art. Individuality is encouraged, so there is a wonderful variety of interpretations derived from each project.

In age appropriate classes, students learn to work with a variety of mediums, including markers, oil and chalk pastels, watercolors, charcoal, graphite, colored pencils and acrylics.
