Through the magic of public television, the world’s “only living purple dinosaur” is coming to Indianapolis… Join Barney and all of your favorite PBS KIDS characters for WFYI’s 13th annual Let’s Meet PBS KIDS in the Park family celebration — presented by Riley Hospital for Children at Clarian North and SafeGuard Child Seat Saturday, June 24, from 10 am - 4 pm, in downtown Indianapolis’ Veterans Memorial Plaza and American Legion Mall. Admission is free!

With continuous entertainment on two distinct stages — families can choose from an array of live performances by such local artists as Silly Safari, Bill Bailey, Express Kids, Melchior Marionettes and Asante Children’s Theatre.

Parents, be sure you bring along your camera to capture your child’s reaction when she meets Elmo for the very first time. This year’s meet and greet opportunities will include Maya & Miguel, Buster, Caillou, Piggley Winks, Leona from Between the Lions, in addition to Noddy and his buddy, Tessie Bear, and your favorite walkaround characters from Sesame Street — Elmo, Zoe, Bert and Ernie. Children will also have the rare opportunity to meet PBS KIDS’ newest star — Curious George. Look for his new animated series to launch this fall on WFYI Public Television.

From bounce houses and colorful mazes to hands-on interactive play stations, Let’s Meet PBS KIDS in the Park boasts an array of educational activities that reflect WFYI Public Television’s on-going commitment to make all young children Ready-to-Learn.
